Frequently Asked Questions

  • Adult size can vary based on genetics, gender, and individual development. Based on our lines, most of our puppies mature within a predictable range, but exact adult size cannot be guaranteed. Maggie (Dam) is 55lbs and Scout (Sire) is 65lbs.

  • Our puppies are F1B Reverse Goldendoodles, meaning they are bred from an F1B Goldendoodle mom and a purebred Golden Retriever dad. This pairing produces puppies that are approximately 62.5 percent Golden Retriever and 37.5 percent Poodle, with an emphasis on the calm, affectionate Golden Retriever temperament and lower shedding potential.

  • No dog is truly hypoallergenic. Goldendoodles are often a good option for families with mild allergies, eczema, and asthma (like ours), but individual reactions vary. We recommend talking to your doctor and spending time around similar dogs if allergies are a concern.

  • Our puppies are reverse F1B Goldendoodles and are more Golden Retriever heavy in their genetics. Because of this, most puppies in our program mature with wavy to flatter coats rather than tight curls. While these coats are often easier to maintain than very curly coats, they do tend to shed more than curlier Goldendoodles.

Shedding levels can vary from puppy to puppy. Many will shed lightly to moderately, especially during seasonal coat changes, and they should not be considered non shedding.

We are very intentional about being transparent with coat expectations and are always happy to discuss individual puppies, coat types, and grooming needs so families can choose the best fit for their lifestyle.

  • Yes. Our puppies are raised around our three children and are accustomed to gentle handling, normal family activity, and everyday household routines. This early exposure helps them transition smoothly into family life.

  • Puppies receive early handling, routine exposure, and foundational enrichment while in our care. We begin kennel training and procedural potty training. Formal training begins once puppies are home, and we provide guidance to help families continue that process.

  • Goldendoodles require regular grooming to maintain a healthy coat. This includes routine brushing at home and professional grooming as recommended. Our puppies are slightly more golden retriever than poodle, which means that they are flat or wavy coated doodles!

Benefits of a Flat or Wavy Coat (vs. Super Tight Curls)

    1. Easier daily maintenance

Flat and wavy coats are much less prone to matting than tight curls. Most families can manage brushing a few times a week instead of daily detangling.

    2. Lower grooming costs

Curly coats often require frequent professional grooming to prevent mats. Flat/wavy coats typically need fewer full grooms and are more forgiving if appointments get pushed out.

    3. More forgiving for busy families

Miss a brushing session? Flat and wavy coats usually bounce back easily, while tight curls can mat quickly and need shaving if neglected.

    4. Softer, “plush” feel

Many families prefer the soft, fluffy, Golden-like texture of a flat or wavy coat over a dense, wooly curl.

    5. Cooler and more comfortable

Tight curls can trap heat. Flat and wavy coats often feel lighter and cooler, especially in warmer climates or active households.

    6. Less grooming stress for the dog

Because mats are less common, grooming tends to be more comfortable and positive for the puppy, especially during early grooming experiences.

    7. Natural, low-maintenance look

Flat/wavy coats keep a natural, teddy-bear appearance without needing frequent shaping or clipping.
